Build Services

We Build the Software Your Operation Runs On

Most operators are running a business that outgrew its website years ago — bookings taken by phone, quotes written by hand, invoices chased by email. We start from your website and build custom work on top of it: more pages, then the operations software behind them. Same team, same stack that built DOT Ready Now.

Engagements

Three Ways to Work With Us

Every engagement is a monthly retainer, not a project quote that balloons. You get working software you can click, early and often — not a slide deck and an invoice.

Start here

Site

$500
per month · 6-month minimum term

Custom work built on top of your website after the initial design job. The Website plan is $0 a month while you are on a Build plan.

  • New pages, design and copy built on top of your four-page website
  • Hosting, SSL, and a preview URL you can forward before anything goes live
  • Mobile and accessibility pass on every page
  • Image optimisation and link-preview cards that render when you paste a link
  • Search basics done right — sitemap, canonical URLs, page metadata
  • A contact form that reaches your inbox, with spam filtering
  • Content and copy changes every month, included

Most operators land here

Site + Operations

$1,500
per month · 4-month minimum term

Everything in Site, plus the software that runs the work the site brings in.

  • Everything in Site
  • Online booking or quote requests, shaped to how you actually sell
  • Customer and job records in one place, instead of a spreadsheet and a phone
  • A staff console with roles — office staff see what they should, and no more
  • Automatic email — confirmations, reminders, follow-ups
  • Card payments through your own Stripe account — you keep the merchant relationship, and the money never routes through us

For operators with a real system to replace

Custom Platform

$3,000
per month · 3-month minimum term

The term matches how long the work takes — site work settles over six months; a dedicated engineer delivers the same in three.

Everything above, plus the parts nobody else will touch — your legacy data, your integrations, your workflow.

  • Everything in Site + Operations
  • Custom workflows built to your process, not bent to fit a product
  • Integrations with the systems you already pay for
  • Data migration off the old system, verified record by record
  • A dedicated environment and API access
  • A direct line to the engineer building it — no ticket queue

Terms and commitment discounts

Minimum terms are six months on Site and Site + Operations and three months on Custom Platform. Every engagement continues month-to-month after its minimum.

  • Commit to 12 months and take 15% off — any tier
  • Prepay the term and take a further 5% off — any tier
  • Commit to 6 months on Custom Platform and take 10% off. The other two tiers already require six months, so there is nothing further to commit to
  • Discounts stack to a maximum of 15%

Site + Operations and Custom Platform are scoped in a conversation first — we quote once we understand the operation.

Work You Can Click, Not a Portfolio Screenshot

Every one of these is live software we designed, built, and run. Open them.

Concept build

A Southern California Sailing Charter

A full concept site — six pages, the fleet, the harbors, the programmes — built in days, not quarters, before a single invoice. This is what the first two weeks of a Site engagement produces.

Concept site, preview on request.

Our own product

DOT Ready Now

A compliance product we built end to end and sell today — public site, self-serve signup, customer portal, billing, a rules engine tracking federal and state deadlines, and automated email. We did not commission this. We wrote it.

Our own operations

American Trans Data

The services side of our business, and the Learning Center behind it — twenty-four course pages, calculators, state guides, and a working contact pipeline. The same build we sell you is the one we run ourselves.

How It Works

You See Something Real in the First Two Weeks

1. A conversation

Thirty minutes on how the business actually runs — who calls, what gets written down, where it falls apart.

2. A preview you can click

A working build at a private URL you can forward to your partner before you commit to anything public.

3. We iterate on the real thing

You tell us what's wrong by pointing at it. No change-order paperwork.

4. It goes live, and stays current

We ship it, we host it, and the monthly retainer keeps it maintained instead of frozen the day it launched.

Every engagement includes

The Things That Should Never Be an Upsell

You Own It

Your domain stays yours, your content stays yours, and your customer data stays yours. If we part ways, you leave with all of it.

Hosting and SSL

Included in the retainer. No separate hosting bill, no certificate that quietly expires on a Sunday.

A Preview Before Anything Public

Nothing replaces your live site until you have clicked through the replacement and said yes.

Built to Be Read on a Phone

Most of your customers arrive on a phone. Every page is built and checked that way first.

Accessible by Default

Keyboard navigation, real headings, checked colour contrast. It is the right thing to do and it is also the law in a lot of places.

Talk to the Builder

You deal with the person writing the code, not an account manager relaying messages.

Common Questions

Build Services FAQ

Why a monthly retainer instead of a project price?

Because a fixed project price makes both of us wrong. You pay for a scope guessed before anyone understood the business, and we stop caring the day it ships. A retainer means the software keeps improving and we stay on the hook for it.

Why six months — and only three on the biggest tier?

The term matches how long the work takes. Site work settles over six months, and the value shows up in the months after launch. Custom Platform puts a dedicated engineer on it and delivers the same in three. After the minimum, every tier continues month-to-month and you can stop at any billing cycle.

Do I own the site and the code?

You own your domain, your content, your images, and your customer data outright — the domain is registered in your name from day one, so leaving is a handover and never a hostage. On the Site engagement you can take the built site with you when you go. Ask us about code ownership terms for the Operations and Platform engagements — we will put it in writing before you sign.

Who processes the card payments?

You do. We connect your own Stripe account, so payouts land in your bank and the merchant relationship stays yours. We never hold your customers' money and we never see card numbers.

Can you take over a site someone else built?

Usually, yes. Bring us the domain and whatever access you still have. In most cases we rebuild rather than inherit — it is faster, and you end up with something we can actually maintain.

How is this different from the ATD Systems platform?

The platform plans are our product, priced per vehicle and driver, and you adopt it as it is. A build engagement is the opposite: we build software around your business. Some operators do both.

Tell Us What Your Operation Actually Does

Thirty minutes on the phone and we will tell you honestly whether we can help, what it would take, and what it would cost. If the answer is no, you will get that too.
